Message
from the President
Dear Wells Cousins,
I hope you all are planning
on coming to the reunion. Please let meknow if you have any suggestions. I
think we have a goodplace to meet but there is always room for improvement!
I will be unable to attend
the reunion this year. My daughter and I will be on a mission trip to Mexico.
This will be the first Wells reunion that I’ve missed in several years. We will
miss you all and hope to see you next year! In my place we have some competent
people who will be running the show. It will be a nice one. If you are
interested in volunteering to help this year or next, let us know.?If you see a need or something you would
like to be involved with, speak up. It’s your reunion!
We are continuing to collect
Wells genealogy information. Please bring copies of anything new you have.
Maybe we can try to have an extra emphasis on genealogy in 2001.?
If you look to the left at
the newsletter masthead, you’ll see that I have a new area code for both my
work and?home telephone numbers. I also
have a new email address: <jhagee@mail.com>.
And don’t forget the Aaron and Ruth (Wiggins) Wells Family
Association home page at <www.webpub.com/~jhagee/wells.html>.
We’re now listed in the category, Sunames, Family Associations & Family
Newsletters, on Cyndi’s List of
Genealogy Sites on the Internet <www.cyndislist.com/>,
THE premier genealogy index on the World Wide Web.
????????????????????????????????????????????????Your
cousin,
????????????????????????????????????????????????Jon
Dear Cousins,
I hope many of you are able
to attend the reunion this year on Sunday, July 16th, at the All Purpose
Building at the 4-H Facilities, Lake Carnico, Carlisle, Kentucky.
Please make an effort to
bring your crafts for the Silent Auction. We always consider this a highlight
of our day.
We now have $1029.80 in our
Treasury. The cost of our January Newsletter was $128.21. We will owe for the
publishing and mailing of this Newsletter and the rent for the reunion site. We
will gladly accept any donations.
????????????????????????Respectfully
submitted,
????????????????????????Betty Jo Wells
????????????????????????Secretary/Treasurer
You may notice that this
issue of the newsletter has fewer pages than usual. Fortunately it’s not
because we have run out of things to write about! My husband, Barry, has taken
a new position as Chief Medical Officer for the Health Care Financing Administration
for Region IX, based in San Francisco. This is the federal agency which
oversees Medicare and Medicaid. We are thrilled to be returning to the City
where we lived for twenty years before moving to the Sacramento region five
years ago. Our younger son, Jonathan, graduated from Granite Bay High School on
June 10th so we are in the midst of a move.
Please feel free to write me
at my new address:
131 Robinhood Drive
San Francisco, CA?
94127-1626
and share your news. And
don’t forget to let me know of your own changes of address. My email address:
<straube@earthlink.net>
remains the same for now.
Thanks to our Wells cousins,
Jon Hagee, Betty Jo Wells, Bessalee Robinson, and Jane Tanner for contributing
items to this issue of the newsletter.?
